    Siddharth Singh, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist who diagnoses and treats diseases of the digestive system. This includes conditions or symptoms that affect the esophagus, stomach, bowels, liver and gallbladder. Dr. Singh’s expertise is in caring for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis.

    As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Singh instructs medical students, residents, and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine. His research interests include patient-centered comparative effectiveness of strategies for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases and other gastrointestinal conditions. He is also interested in harnessing big data in electronic health records for improving clinical care and population health. Dr. Singh has co-authored over 60 research articles in leading peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA, Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Gut. He also serves on the editorial board of Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics and has been recognized as a top reviewer for The American Journal of Gastroenterology and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

    Dr. Singh completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology and an advanced fellowship in inflammatory bowel diseases at Mayo Clinic. He completed a residency in internal medicine at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Singh earned his medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India. He holds a master’s degree in clinical and translational science from Mayo Clinic and is currently pursuing a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded fellowship in clinical informatics in the Division of Biomedical Informatics at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Singh is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

    He is an active member of the American Gastroenterological Association and serves on the Clinical Guidelines Committee. Dr. Singh is also a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

    Outside of work, Dr. Singh enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children, watching soccer and cricket, and trying diverse types of spicy cuisines.
